Drastic Cuts to Cecil County Schools?

In January, the School Superintendent unveiled a draft budget proposal to the School Board that included cuts to several key programs and the elimination of 150 teachers and staff.

Danielle Hornberger: Students First!

I join parents in the anger and disappointment that the Superintendent and School Board have proposed cutting 150 teachers and important programs like Gifted & Talented, while recommending pay hikes for bureaucrats including the Superintendent, who already earns $250,000 annually.

I pledge today that I will NOT accept this, and I will counter-propose a budget that secures funding for our valuable and critical priorities including gifted and talented classes and JV sports.

Student educational needs come before bureaucrat pay hikes paid for by Cecil County taxpayers.
